The complaint revolves around fraudulent practices carried out by the sales team of an unnamed insurance company, targeting senior citizens. The key points of fraud include:
  1. Misrepresentation of Insurance Terms: The sales team deceived senior citizens by falsely promising insurance coverage for individuals up to 85 years old, misrepresenting policy terms.
  2. Replacement of Proposal Document: The original proposal document, completed by the parents, was unlawfully replaced with a new document, altering the insured names to the son's name.
  3. Forgery of Signatures: Signatures of both the mother and son were forged on the fraudulent document, executed without their consent or knowledge.
  4. Intentional Misrepresentation of Contact Information: The sales team inserted their own phone contact numbers into the forged document, intentionally omitting the insured parties' email ID. This obstructed communication from the insurance company to the insured, hindering verification of policy authenticity.
Despite continuous follow-up and lodging a complaint with the Insurance Regulatory Authority, the insurance company refunded the premium paid after a prolonged three-month period, deducting an administrative fee. However, they failed to acknowledge the forgery and malpractices committed by their sales team.
The purpose of seeking legal advice is to expose these fraudulent activities and draw attention to the insurance company's negligent response. It aims to raise awareness among the public to prevent others from falling victim to similar fraudulent schemes, highlighting the mental distress caused by such incidents.

The only references to Insurance Regulatory Authority that came up in my (brief) web search referred to Kenyan and Ugandan agencies. This forum is for US law matters only.
