hello,
Going to try and keep it short and sweet. I'm looking for the best law firm in Oklahoma city for defending an employee against a large corporation. I'm not sure who I trust less my company or the union. Here is a brief description of my problem. I got into a disagreement with an individual at work over their normal bs harassment games. The next work day im getting random drug tested. This would seem normal if it was not for the fact that I was getting drug tested by this individuals mother in law. The individual I had a disagreement with is the son in law of a corporate big wig. The father in law aka corporate big wig also owns the clinic that does the drug testing. I come up positive for amphetamine/methamphetamine. At first im shocked then scared then pissed off. I get a call early in the morning. I wake up and im feeling like they are accusing me of being a meth addict. I don't and didn't and wouldn't ever touch an illegal drug that would ever make me test positive. I'm prescribed medicine that turns into amphetamine in your body. Its an anti-depressant that im prescribed for ptsd. I was a young kid thrown into the mud and blood and after two combat tours I needed medication to stabilize my family. I have yet to meet with anyone I was just told not to show up for work this weekend and to show up Monday for a doctors appointment. I went and had my own urine analysis done and got a letter from the doctor stating that the medication would test positive for amphetamine. I feel targeted by this guy at work and his father in law. I feel as though im being portrayed as a methhead and my integrity is being trashed with complete deformation of my character. Any advice or experience with any law firms would be appreciated.
Thank you

So nobody has actually said that you were a meth addict?

If that's the case, you have no case.

You'll need about $20,000 to $50,000 for a retainer to hire one of the five or ten best law firms in your city.

If that's not a problem, contact the OKC Bar Association or the OK State Bar Association for a few referrals in labor law:

If good is okay, ask your relatives, friends, co-workers, or contact a couple attorneys you see advertising in your area.

They'll probably only require a $3,000 to $7,500 retainer, maybe less.

You might want to wait & see what happens Monday - take the letter from your doctor. Generally, your recourse is through your union though I know you said you are not sure you trust them. I'm sorry but we cannot give a referral to a specific lawyer/law firm. You might contact your local or state bar assoc. for a referral if you believe you have a case against your employer & see what he/she thinks. Based on what you posted so far, I'm not sure you have a case - you admitted you do test positive. They are probably following their normal procedure for a positive test.

Thanks so much for the help! They never came out and said I was a meth addict. Its a small town and gossip travels fast/twisted. I can only imagine the snide remarks im going to get if I do return to work. Since now it pretty much public knowledge that I failed the drug test and I'm on mental medication. I'm a bit worried since if they do try and make it stick I will not be able to get a job in this industry again. The company is owned by a billionaire so I'm not sure what to do. If I did take medication that was illegal and that was the reason I tested positive then I would be able to accept this. I never knew much about drug testing until now because I don't worry about something I don't do. Little did I know its not cut and dry. I just don't see how its legal for an employee of the company to control the collection facility for the drug tests. I know this is a bit crazy but I'm starting to wonder if it was not tampered with. I just don't know and I'm pretty scared. This is how I provide for my family. I do not have any other skills or trades. I feel powerless because I just don't see me winning this even with all my savings spent on a lawyer. I will post an update Monday and see what they say.

Yes, please let us know what happens Monday. Good luck.
