A buddy and I were driving on Interstate 89 in New Hampshire and were pulled over by a state officer doing 96 in a 65. The ticket wants him to appear January 31st, 2004 in Concord district court, however this is not possible as the ticket was received in November of 2004. If he does not receive a letter from the state correcting the date and does not go to court what could be the ramifications? What should he do in this situation?

This is an obvious mistake. I'm not sure that this will do anything to get your friend out of the ticket because he was confused about the mistake. It might prolong the pain and could make things even more difficult showing up in court if you are wrong. I'd make a call and ask questions. This would be different than if the information on your car was incorrectly written, i.e. the license plate number was wrong. I believe there is also a differentiation because one deals with the merits of the case itself and the other only pertains to when a hearing to prove the merits of the case is to occur.
