ex-emloyer is speading rumors I was Fired for DUI and it isn't true

I was fired for filling out a workmans comp wrong. My ex-employer is telling everyone I was fired because of my driving record and had a DUI. Which of course I can prove that I did not. there is a few other things I will list the below but what can I do to them legally. First of all the paperwork I filled out for my car accident that I was in 1 year before they made me do the paperwork. which I told them a lot of times I was in 2 accidents within 3 weeks of each other and I did not remember which 1 was which since they were both within a mile of each other. I was working and had my kid in the car but on the form they made me fill out I told them I did not have my kid in the car a cuz I could not remember. They would not let me wait and do it another day so I could get the police record and check . Isn't it my legal right for them not being able to tell other people I use to work with why I was fired isn't it a confidentiality thing and only the people and upper management and 12 fired me should know the real reason shouldn't they just say it was personal reasons. I also wanted to mention I worked for them for 16 years never had any write ups and they are fighting me on unemployment.
 
There is no law that prohibits an employer from telling anyone he wants why you were fired. You have very few rights of confidentiality in the workplace.

That being said, tell me a little more about the workers comp situation.

first are allowed to lie about why I was fired they said I had a DUI which of course I can prove I didn't. Know I don't drink even know I sold wine for a living I was 1 of the few people that never drank.
As for the workmans comp which I never asked for and never received. in november of 2009 I was in 2 car accidents within 1 month the car accidents were a half mile away from each other. both of the accident I was working as I drive for a living it was the weekend and I was working extra taking 1 of my kids over to my brother who happens to work for the same company. 1 year later they called me back down to the office because I had an insurance bill that was not paid between them and my auto insurance. they said it could only be paid if I was working which at the time I was. there is no rule in my company saying I could not have my kids in the car when I am working past normal business hours. hey did know that I was in a car accident with my kid 1 of the times I told them it was so long ago I did not remember it which accident it was I did tell them at that point that I was 75 percent sure that he was not in the car but I would like to have more time to get the police record. they told me I had to do it then or I would be suspended until further investigation without pay 1 thing I forgot to tell you is the week before that they suspended me without pay because of a flaw at the secretary of state had my drivers license invalid for a total of 30 minutes I asked the human resources lady same person who made me sign workmans comp paper syracuse and we got in an argument about it and of course I prove her right. which I believe she was not happy that I got mad at her and got her in trouble also sincet I was right and they did pay me for the suspended week I have proof that I was in both accidents in the same on on the same street and I have the tow bills and everything. I had worker 16 years had more vacation time than anyone else in my boss always had to cover it and hated it. hey then fired me saying I falsified insurance papers and the worst part was like I told them wasn't 100 percent sure and why couldn't I corrected the total of the bill was 200 dollars I also was the highest paid salesman making 90,000 dollars a year why would I want to lose a job like that for 200 dollars I've never been written up in my company ever and in 16 years never used more than 10 sick days. to top it off the person who replaced me happened to beat my xbox is best friend and another bosses nephew who happen only work for the company less than 2 years and there was at least another 25 salesman more qualified to get my position I think there was more to it they wanted me out because of my seniority vacation time and how much I made they also lied to the president and ceo of my company about what happened and he could not fix it after that because they did not explain everything till a month after and not insurance company would no longer insure me he personally told me he would've let me redo my paperwork but it was out of his hand at that point because it was with the insurance company and their lawyers. we're an at will state and I understand that my question whidbey is will I win my unemployment since they made me fill out the paperwork that day even know there is 3 of them and they all said I adamantly said he was not in the car I do have a witnesses saying how they treated me And them since we're not all treated the same if you were a company boy you were not pressured as much to sell I still was the number 1 dollar salesman and volume salesman. sorry I hope this makes sense they took away my laptop so I have to do everything on my phone and it's a lot harder to see the screen I do not have spell check
 
Dude, for you to have any chance of getting your job back, speak with a lawyer. A lawyer might be able to help salvage something. At least he'll tell you what your chances are.

Things look DIM at best, but talk to an attorney.

As far as UI, who knows?

Just show up for all hearings and tell a short believable story. Witnesses and documentation are helpful.
