okay here's the deal. I worked for Sears a few years ago and was terminated for Theft. I was young, yes, and dumb, yes. Anyways, they put me in handcuffs and get ready to haul me off to jail, but they take me back out of the pattywagon and the LP Manager says you are not going to jail but I do need a statement from you. I signed some papers and then they tell me to leave, but I also had a court date to answer the charge. Court date arrives and I go to court, but the LP manager or anyone from law enforcement or Sears is there to represent so the judge dismisses it. I contact the LP manager and he says he did me a quote "favor". I pay the restitution fees over the course of three months and I am done with this for good so I thought. Fast forward 3 more months and I apply to Circuit City only to be denied employment because of my Consumer Report. This is where Im confused, I was not arrested and paid restitution so why is this still a factor? Or is there any way to get this off my consumer report seeing as though I was never charged but I was fired for theft? Just need answers or could someone point me in the right direction. Iam currently working at a Wine Distribution warehouse until I finish college, but graduation is approaching fast and I need to get this handled ASAP!!
Thankx in advance
PS. I forgot to mention I was served with a civil suit a long while after being fired saying I owe x amount of dollars. Iam in the process of repaying that as I type and I also called the courthouse and got them to see if I had anything on my background and they said I was clean.
