We moved to new town since husband had been unemployed, , dont know anyone here, husband got good professional job, only had it for 4 months, they let him go three days ago telling him, that he was "not a good fit" with the company even though he never missed one day of work and put total effort in.
Problem is there is no way we can afford the rent on this apartment with unemployment even, and he may not be eligible anyhow since he was just on unemployment after an economic lay-off and had this job for such a short time.
I want to know what is the easiest way to break a lease without trashing my credit or being taken to court.
1. Should I tell the landlady find someone else and just move out when they find another renter? and can I still be liable for rent once another renter is found? [not sure how that works] Do I have to advertise the apt myself?
2. Can I claim severe hardship, including worsening health? and fact I may be moving into disability housing in old town?
