My Boss calls me on the phone and accuses me of not addressing a customer's concern. I explained to him this was the first i had heard about any concern. He told me I was lying and threatened me with being written up over this. He told me the customer had heard the route man call me from his cellphone and address his concerns. I replied that the route man had not called me, this is when he said that I was lying. Upon arrival at the office, he printed my job description and asked how successful I was based upon that description. I was stunned at this point. I did not reply. That evening he pulled me in his office and asked me if I had any suggestions on my employment with the company, I told him not at this time. About an hour and half later after constant verbal beating about how I was not fulfilling my job duties, he replied to me that he would let me know what he was going to do by Friday, which was the next day. The following day upon Questioning of the route man by my Boss, he found out that I had told the truth and the route man in fact had not talked to me. In actuality he had talked to another member of management. He at no point had any of the same conversation with this other member of management that he had with me. He still has not had the decency to admit that he had wrongly accused me. The saddest part of all of this is that he did this in front of his boss. I feel as if his boss condoned this outburst and false accusations towards me. I have never been written up for poor job performance, or anything for that matter since I have been employed with this company. Am I perfect, no far from it.
Well anyway Friday comes and he decides to not talk to me. I decided to on Saturday to leave this company's employment and gave them my letter explaining just what I have written above. Really, after the discussions on Thursday, I thought they would be relieved. Now his Boss is calling me and telling how valuable I am, and they do not want to lose me. He has requested a meeting with me on the matter. A little information, this Branch Manager has lost Five people in the last Five Weeks out of a department of 15. Personally, I feel it is because he does not want to catch any grief from the regional office about turnover. I could be wrong. I just wonder if this type of treatment is harassment? Is there anything I can do? Do I need to shut up and quit whining and move on? I reside in and worked for this company in North Carolina.
