6/11/14 I was laid off Jan 2014, for "job elimination, position wasn't being replaced. I was with the company for 12 years in management, received good reviews and never written up. I recently reported to a new boss and we didn't work well together and I sensed he was wanting me gone. I am 57 years old and feel wronged that this was an act of retaliation, age discrimination and highly compensated due to my tenure. The employer has posted a job opening for the position outlining the job duties/description I had now at hourly wage.

Is this a scenario worth bringing to an employment attorney?

Not on the basis of what you have posted.

Retaliation for what? What did you do that your employer would have felt the need to retaliate?

Have you notified them that you are interested in returning?

Based just on what you posted, I don't see where you have any type of case.

Also, it's not illegal to eliminate a position & then later offer the same/similar position again & at a different rate of pay.
