I accepted employment after leaving my previous employer, after 2 months of employment with excellent documented performance,I was approached by my GM, I was told that work was slow and they were doing a position elimination , thus my position was terminated.NOT FIRED-
5 months later I was contacted by the manager who hired me, he had since left and was working as a manager at another business, his purpose in calling me was to see if I was interested in working for him .i passed , the conversation continued, he informed me that his boss the GM had approached him and stated for him to fire me, "he said what for" ? The GM said that my previous employer had called the corporate HR and something was implied, he would not elaborate, my boss said he would not fire me without cause. So the GM released me, stated they were too slow, I was given a weeks severance , my final paycheck, and down the road I went. Upon learning this I'm very interested in getting to exactly what was said and seeking an award for lost wages and damages. How do I go about getting justice?
