I have worked at mt current employment for the past 5 years. I have won several sales achievement awards, and I always thought I was viewed as a valuable employee. Several years ago I was promoted the the " highline group". I have maintained consistent sales in this group as well. I have worked with many managers, and have worked with many different employees. I have never had a problem with anyone, until the past few months, when they switched up management, and a different manager is now heading my group. I have since been written up several times, and feel like he is out to get me. Yesterday I was called into his offic with his manager, also in charge of the entire staff. He accused me of lying, cheating and " stealing from the company", based on a sale that I had put my name on. I reviewed what was shoved in front of me and clearly was a mistake on my part. He then told me I was going to be demoted and that "they won't stand for this". I was totally shocked and really was so upset, I was hysterical. I said that I would never, " steal", and felt based on a mistake, he is calling me a lyer. I asked for any other examples, or if he had established a pattern to bring these accusations. He said no, but he was sure he could find other examples. I asked if they thought I was lying cheating and stealing, what are they not firing me? After many tears and discussion with the other manager in the room, she turned to manager and said "rip up the "write up" and demotion" she also stressed, not only are they not firing me, or demoting me, she did not want to lose me as an employee. I have been so devasted, and sad over yesterday's events. My question is do I need to do anything to protect myself? Now I am still working with him, what if he just try's to gather anything against me? What rights do I have?

If you are asking whether any legally protected rights have been violated, the answer is that they have not. It's by no means the way I would have handled it and you have a jerk for a manager. But there aren't any laws guaranteeing you that management will always be well-handled. Since it appears that the write-up and demotion have been canceled, there really isn't any action for you to take at this time.

All you can do is just do your work as usual & cause no problems (which it seems you don't based on your post).

Good luck.
