I was recently cited for operation of an off road vehicle(atv)on a road way. There were several of us all riding together when we were pulled over by a deputy. He cited us all for the same violation. The following day my buddies dad took the tickets to the sheriffs office and talked with the sheriff. The sheriff said he would drop my buddies ticket but not the others.

I guess he can do this because he obviously did...but do I have any argument to get mine dropped since he dropped my buddies? I feel as if he dropped one he should drop them all.

Thanks in advance

The law does not have provision where just because one person escapes prosecution for breaking the law, everyone gets a free ride. It does make one wonder what information he traded for the ticket being cancelled though.

He didn't provide any information. He and the sheriff are just friends. So I guess it's legal...just doesn't seem professional to me. Oh well
