I had an issue with my company about 4 months ago. I got called down to the main office where i met with my boss and his boss.Someone (customer supposedly) had called HR claiming i was accepting pot at work. I told them no not true. BigBoss insisted i was LYING, literally called me that to my face. I still told him i didnt know what he was talking about, and he continued to say i do, that i do know. Just a little FYI Bigboss shouldnt even had handled my situation, because the company already had laid this guy off. But the issue had to be addressed asap, and the company had him do it, because his replacement wasnt coming back for another month so the company asked him to take care of it. So anyways for him to be talking to me the way he did just based on his suspision and the customer complaint....he even asked me if i could take a drug test.could i sue the company for this? When the meeting was over i felt like they already had thier minds made up regardless of what i had to say. Another thing is that, i called the next day to my bosses boss (Bigboss) to tell him that i wanted the customers information so i can press chargers for slander and false accusations and the shady involvment of the company as well. He said oh the customers info is private we have the right to protect it and then i said well i have my rights too and if the customer is going to slander my rep by involving me with drugs that was her choice, and the companies choice on how you handled it. He said dont worry about it the company has your back. Well wait a second were you not in the meeting we had yesterday? The company has my back? Then why did he talk to me the way he did? Can they do this? And the day after that the Bigboss was officially released from his duties, next thing you know his replacement starts asking me if everything was okay with that situation and just to move on from it.
HR has this all on file so can i still sue and will they have to give up all the information if i want to take it that far?
This company is a multibillion dollar company i think they would cover something like this up.
