I was coming home at 10 pm about 3 weeks ago in a small town near pittsfield mass, about 50 miles west of where i live, on a road i had never driven before. I pulled onto the main route out there and saw the posted speed of 55 mph, set the cruise control and just started heading home not in any hurry.
Now the speed limit dropped from 55 to 45 and i didnt realize this, but then i saw the zone change to 35, i entered the zone doing 55 but then slowed down to 35, however an officer was waiting at the entrance to that zone and i got a ticket for doing 56 in the 35.
I've gotten a few tickets within the last 2 years for similar situations but i decided to fight this one because i did slow down, plus not being from anywhere near the area. I honestly dont think i stand any chance on beating this but what do you guys think?
Also, does anyone know the laws on exactly how many tickets you need before you get your licence suspended? Is it something like 3 in 1 year and 5 in 3 years?
