Hey everyone,
Im just gonna get to it, i was inquiring about a job at a gas station and the owner hired me on the spot and told me to come in for training later that day at 4 o clock pm. Of course i talk professional and dress professionaly but this guy never asked me to fill out an application, w2, insurance forms, or any company forms stating any legalities that usually come with employment. Also for the record i live in FLORIDA so the laws may differ in other states. I came in for work to "Train" which i ended up running the cash register for this drugged out girl that has been working there for what seemed ages, until 8 pm. This is when he told me to leave. 4 to 8 was the shift. but i wanted to stay and learn on the register, because from what i understood, he would not give you a schedule until you can run the register by yourself. I left around 9. Next day came back at 6 which i was supposed to stay untill 9. By this point i could run the register by myself. ( i previously worked in gas stations). The 2nd night i worked the beer stock guy got caught in the bathroom with a coworker. on the video the next day by the owner. Ok so heres where it gets rough. I never stole anything, drank any inventory or smoked any tobacco that i didnt pay for. I got a call the next day saying i was fired and i could talk to the owner and the cops the next day and watch the video of what i supposedly did. So i walked in the store looking to see cops but i see the owner and he says your fired basically. and i asked him why am i being fired. he responded with i dont like people that dont listen. referencing me not leaving when i was asked... just to get more experience for myself. This is Friday afternoon by the way. He then said he refused to pay me for the time i worked. I told him its against the law in Florida to not pay an employee for training. (That i really didnt know i just said it) I told him i worked 7 hours. he checked and agreed to pay me 7 hours worth on tues. Tues rolls around and i recieve a pay check from another employee of his... ((yeah the mother****** didnt even have balls for me to come in his store so he gave it to an employee that would eventually run into me.)) Anyways i looked at it and recieved 5 hours pay. NOwwwwwwwwww the pay is not a big deal i dont care about 40 somthing dollars. The principal is he owes me, by law. But he hired me to sell beer and tobacco with out even knowing my age. I am 17 years old actually 18 in 3 weeks. BUT now that i have a pay check with a stub written out to me with my vitals on it. Does this mean that i have proof that he hired an underage person to sell alcohol and tobacco in the state of florida. Also i would like to know what kind of penalties he is facing and how intense they are? Also who would i contact to put this a**hole in the light.
Might i add that i recieved nothing but complaints from the employees there about how he steals money from their paychecks and doesnt pay them overtime. Whens the last time you saw some one getting paid 7.00/ hr and worked 55 hours to only recieve 190$.... BULL F**kin Sh*t
