If you can't afford a lawyer, ask the court to appoint you a public defender. A PD is a lawyer - discuss your options. You can ask the PD after ACD or Diversion.
Sorry, no, you/your parents cannot just go & take the child. If the child is being abused or neglected, contact Child Protective Services (or whatever the agcy. is called in your state). You can let the police know of any drug use.
Your employer could actually have fired you (even for suspicion) - you can be fired at any time for any reason except a reason prohibited by law or unless you have a binding employment contract to the contrary. Your employer did not do anything wrong/illegal.
You need to report this to your OWN ins. company. (though you could pay for repairs & sue other party for reimbursement but that can sometimes be a hassle & if you win in court, you still have to try & collect your judgment)
Did you report the accident to your own ins. company - it is always best to report the accident to them even if you believe you are not at fault. Your ins. co. should contact the other party's ins. co. They will determine fault for ins. purposes.

If you are the only one on the lease, you most likely are responsible for any rent due. It "seems like" you are asking if you can sue your roommate for the disputed rent - you can "try". As army judge noted though, even if you win there is the problem of collecting the judgment.
It's not likely anyone in the ER is going to pay any attention to what is said to you or remember what is said to you if they do hear. In most cases, no one there will even know you or remember your name.
You don't come right out & ask a specific question. However; if you are worried about being sued - if & when he sues, you go to court & defend yourself. It seems he made an offer, it was accepted by you & he took possession of item.
