Can managers take tips when they aren't doing "tippable" work?

As long as you're making minimum wage, the law doesn't really care how tips are divided up. It's simply your opinion regarding who and how. As far as the cell phone issue, leave your cell phone in your car and that won't be an issue.

Hired under false pretenses by the post office

It's an unfortunate situation but I don't think there is anything you can do except perhaps find someone to pick up your child on the weeks that you cannot.

    Mental Health #11 - A New Beginning

A co-worker at the grocery recently turned her cart into the cashier lane and heard someone yelling "that bitch cut me off!" She turned to see what the fuss was about and the lady looked at her and said "yeah you bitch!." She hadn't even seen the lady who had apparently selected that cashier...

    Mental Health #11 - A New Beginning

That's an interesting viewpoint about the grocery store. I guess I'm rude(although I don't reach over or push,) but I do say excuse me if someone seems to be stuck in one spot. But if I'm standing there staring and trying to decide, I don't mind if someone reaches in so they can be on their way...

Legally he cannot force you out, but you need to make sure you are in a safe place for yourself and your children.

    Help with used care issue.

The best way to find out if you can get your money back is to ask them. They may be willing to at least put you in a different car.

Cynthia you did the right thing in not responding. And that will irritate them even more!! Our good friend was denied UI again, so I guess we will find out if he follows up on his threat to sue.

    Could we fight for custody?

Bless you for caring about the child. But also give your sister credit for trying to do the right thing as well. Perhaps you can help your sister take care of the child.

    Mental Health #11 - A New Beginning

I forgot the best part. He has been texting a former employee asking him to be a witness for him. He starts out asking. The guy says no then ignores him after that. It then becomes begging, pleading, offering to pay him for his time and promising to get him a job. Then it degenerates into...

    Mental Health #11 - A New Beginning

The UI hearing was today. He had his lawyer in attendance. He rambled on about nonsense nearly every question he was asked. The hearing officer must have said "irrelevant" at least a hundred times. He and his lawyer were both argumentative with the lady. We didn't have to say much. He pretty...

    They took my car

It is not your car and never was. Your friend had every right to go get the car, did not need your permission and I don't blame them for not giving it back to you. They did you a huge favor and you betrayed that trust by allowing someone else to drive their vehicle. If you can't purchase a car in...

How to Enforce Loan Transfer of Vehicle

You cannot force the other person to get a loan and if they have really bad credit it just won't happen. The car belongs to you. It isn't really a matter of repossession from the person currently driving it. If the vehicle is worth what is owed, then your best bet is to sell the car and payoff...

    Husband prohibiting visit

The legal answer is simple. No he cannot forbid you anything. IF he does get a retraining order then you will have to deal with the order. IF. The relationship answer is not so simple. Defying him could have consequences for you.

    Car Title vs Money paid

Dad owns the car. It doesn't matter who made the payments. He had every legal right to take the car.

    Husband prohibiting visit

Legally speaking no he can't forbid you anything. Now you have to live with the man so it's really up to you to decide how you want to handle the situation. If the fight with the sister is recent, he may just need some time to calm down. In the meantime perhaps you can compromise and only go to...

Negligence, Other Injury Company tries to make employee pay insurance deductible for damage to a company's truck.

My company requires employees to pay the deductible if an accident is their fault. It's not all that unusual. If an employee is careless or negligent, then the company should not have to bear the expense. What's not clear in your husband's case is if he was at fault or not. However as noted, if...

    Child Support Question

Do you currently have a court order in place but he isn't paying it because of no job? If so, then going back to court wouldn't change anything.

Taking child support when mother doesn't have child

You allowed the ex to receive child support in order to keep the peace, that was your decision. You won't get any of it back now. You can go to court now and have the support order changed for the future. Child support often stops automatically when the child turns 18 anyway, but possibly not if...
