Surname Change: From Father to Mother

My nephew is technically my stepnephew. My brother's stepson. But my brother has raised him since he was 2. They did change his last name a couple years ago but can't afford adoption by my brother. My SIL is going to try to figure it out because a friend of hers died from complications from a...

Surname Change: From Father to Mother

Changing his last name isn't like an open adoption. Lots of kids have different last names than their parent or their siblings. My daughter's oldest half brother has a different last name than her and the other two half siblings. He has his mom's last name. I still have my ex's last name simply...

I owe back child support, if I get married will my fiance be held accountable for my Dept?

No your spouse would not be accountable for YOUR child support arrears. Absolutely not. The only thing that would affect your spouse is if you file joint taxes and they take the arrears out of your tax return. But I believe the spouse can file something to get their portion refunded. I'm no...

    Ex harassing me

Block his emails. Block his phone number. Block him on social media. That solves that part of the problem. If he wants to sue you, let him try to take you to court. He likely is just blowing smoke up your ass. He's just an abusive prick. If you ignore him he will go away eventually. If you...

I let my step daughter take my 6 year old daughter to washington for the summer

A year ago? Wait what the hell? How the hell has she had your child for a year? Why didn't you just go get her sooner with the police in tow? When did you file a missing person report? I would think that as soon as you filed that they would have went to the address you had and got her. So how...

    Help please

Take her to court and get a custody order from the court with visitation in writing ordered by the court. That's the only way you can get her to stop. If she doesn't abide by court ordered visitation she can be held in contempt. But you have to go to court and should have done this seven years ago.

False abuse allegations and strong-arming via court

Well it seemed there was no evidence, her partner wasn't even anywhere near the child the day of the alleged incident but with the other parent I would think it's safe to say it's a false allegation. "A year ago, my SO was falsely accused of pinching my son's nipple (not brutally, no traumatic...
