    I could imagine the guy's mother or grandfather posting bail, if given a chance. However, since he threatened the police as well, perhaps they won't get that opportunity.

    I doubt it. Look at your state's DMV's list of acceptable documents. If I-765 isn't on there, then no, it's not sufficient proof. Get the replacement SS card and green card.

    File a police report at the station. Keep meticulous records of what happens when. Become aware of local ordinances, to better understand what is violation versus what is just annoying. Report the things that are violations of the law.
