    Credit card balance inquiry

I very strongly suspect that unless you have previously provided the credit card company with written authorization from the card holder to be granted that information, Member Services or Customer Services or whatever they call the department that answers the CS line, would refuse to provide you...

    Arizona Surprise bill

I'm no longer involved in handling claims on a day to day basis; I might be involved in a claim payment once a month and more often prescription claims for some reason. However, I did find this for you that seems to have a fairly clear explanation and suggests your next steps...

    Timeclock rounding, is this legal?

At this point, I agree with calling the PA DLI. PA is not fast, but they are thorough - I've dealt with them a couple of times. If what is being done violates the pay laws, PA will let the employer know it, without letting them know who complained. If the policy is legal, the DLI will explain it...

    Timeclock rounding, is this legal?

Time clock rounding is legal, in up to the nearest 15 minute increment, as long as it is even handed and practiced regardless of who it benefits. If you are rounded forward to 8:00 when you come in at 7:53, that's okay as long as when you come in at 8:07 you are rounded back to 8;00. The...

    retrospective payments

Yes, there is. It's four years in MA. AND even if you were within the time frame, which you are not, you would need a doctor who would verify that your illness was CAUSED BY your employment. Workers comp DOES NOT APPLY unless the illness or injury can be medically tied to your employment. I

Why is my ADA discrimination case being rejected by employment law firms?

Based solely on your post above, I don't see that you have an ADA discrimination case at all. Or, frankly, any other case. That could be why you're not finding any takers. If there are additional facts that you think would change the answers, by all means provide them.

    retrospective payments

Workers compensation only applies when the illness or injury can be confirmed as having been caused by your employment. MA does not have a state disability plan. Since unemployment and a private employer's disability plan are incompatible with one another (if you are eligible for one it's...

Can employer withhold your last paycheck?

I'm not sure they can take the whole check under MO law, though. A call to the DOL can't hurt. Worst case, the OP is told there's nothing they can do.

    Question about pleading the 5th

It's the same as when you plead not guilty. As it was once explained to me, pleading Not Guilty (or, pleading the 5th) is not saying I didn't do it; it's saying, I am standing on my right under the Constitution to have the prosecution prove me guilty.

Can employer withhold your last paycheck?

My reading of the Missouri final paycheck law is that such a deduction is not permissible, and it's strongly discouraged under the FLSA. I would definitely recommend a call to the MO DOL. ETA - that doesn't mean you can't be asked to pay the bill directly.

wage loss and medical bill lawsuit

Come on, you boys have been around these boards long enough to figure that out. Filing a lawsuit is much sexier than just submitting a dumb old insurance claim. Anyone can file an insurance claim. Not everyone gets to go to court and have a judge kick the Bad Guy's ass for you, in front of you...

Sexual Harassment That Happened On the Job As a Minor

Gra$3, since you clearly do not understand the laws you are reading in the least, please consult with an Idaho attorney who can explain them to you and review any options you might still have.

Can domestic violence victims mention prior abuse at trial?

You might also want to consider hiring with a lawyer who can represent you and your rights. The prosecutor represents the state, not you. Even a consultation (many give free or low cost) might help you better understand how the system works.

Asked to Sign Non-Compete for Internship

Non-compete: I agree not to work for competitors, defined as x, for y period of time. Non-disclosure: I agree not to tell the employer's competitors things about their operation that they don't want made public Not at all the same thing, and while I agree that non-competes are generally...

Asked to Sign Non-Compete for Internship

Is it actually a non-compete you are being asked to sign, or a non-disclosure? They are NOT the same thing, and if the concern is trade secrets, a non-disclosure is much more likely. Non-disclosures are in general much less limiting than non-competes.

Endowed department head hiring at SDSU

Discrimination based on what school one attended is legal. Nothing that you have posted suggests that the school has violated any laws or protected rights, and nothing you have posted suggests that you have any basis for legal action.
