So about a year and three months ago I was with two of my friends who decided to shop lift condoms. We were walking towards the exit when a secret shopper came up asking to see under our shirts and etc, asking us where the "CD Cases" were. I'm guessing he thought they took CD cases since they were right next to them. Anyways, he proceeds to ask us and my friends lead him around the store for about 20 minutes trying to "find where they put the CD cases". My friend finally just snaps and gets tired of "looking" and says we didn't take CD cases but we did take condoms and he pulled out the condoms. The secret shopper looked at us and told us to follow him, taking us to the back room. He took all three of us in asking us for our names numbers and social security numbers. We obliged and answered all of his questions. The manager comes in and says basically pay for it and we won't call the police. My friend was allowed to go back to the car with the assistance of the secret shopper. My friend comes back and he pays for a box of condoms and we're all released with being told we were banned from all
store name for one year. No police were called, no fines were issued, nothing.
I have a few questions about this though... I am now 18 about to graduate high school. I'm looking for a job with the police force when I'm 21~22 and I'm going to college for criminal justice. Will this hinder my ability to get a job with the police force? Since I was never issued a summons for court or issued a fine, is this on my record? Whenever I go for job interviews should I mention this or because I was never formally charged should it be on my record?
Thank you in advance for all answers.
