I was caught shoplifting 5 years ago and it was expunged from my record. I went into (store) today and stole supplements ($24.99 before tax) and was caught again. No police were involved and I went home. What possible things may happen?

You're not a very good thief. Stop stealing. No way this dummy can determine what'll happen to you. But, from what you've said, looks like they'll send you a letter demanding you pay tribute, maybe $300-500. Wait, read the letter, and stop stealing. Your luck is running out.

If no police were involved, you might just get a civil demand letter through the mail. It will tell you how much you owe for the civil demand. If you pay it, they probably will not pursue with the police.

If there were no Police or pending court date you dodged the bullet. A second offense or repeat crime could bring on a jail sentence and would definitely give you a criminal record. Pay the Civil Demand so not to provoke further action and thank your lucky stars store did not contact Law Enforcement.
