I have just been arrested for theft for the 3rd time in 8 years. The last time I was caught (2 1/2 yrs ago) I was court ordered to recieve counseling as well as a fine, probation, Anti-theft class & community service. The 2 previous times were class B misdemeanor as well. The oggice siad it was a class B misdemeanor. The officer said he was too busy to take me to jail so he gave me a notebook paper with a phone # and a case # and said that he will put in for a warrant for my arrest. I am very confused about what I am supposed to do now. I called the # today and they said that there is no warrent in yet... How long does he have to put in for a warrant? Have you ever heard of them not putting in for a warrant? Do I need a lawyer? Can I represent myself? Do lawyers really help my case? Will I have to go to jail? Can anyone give me some advice. Thank you.

Given you are a repeat offender, you need a lawyer ASAP. Would probably spend at least 3 months in jail if found guilty. A lawyer can help you find the best solution………….Get one even before the charges are filed. Don't dare without a lawyer!
