440 Motion

Hello, I've had a conviction in the past that is prohibiting me from getting my GreenCard. I'm having a "broker" set me up with an attorney that is going to file a 440 motion to appeal my conviction. It's been 4 months. I still don't have this complete. Every-time I ask my attorney when he will file the 440 moron he give me a date and when I go to follow I'm he says that he isn't finished yet, this has happened five times.

My question is, how long does it typically take to drafts and file a 440 motion?
Thanks in advance

I hope for your sake you haven't paid the broker a sweet, hunk of your money.

If you've paid, here's my guess as to how this ends.

You'll keep getting to put off, or the stall.

I doubt that even IF the motion had been filed, it wouldn't mean very much to our federal government.

I suggest you find a couple of immigration attorneys, most will give you a FREE initial consultation.

I wish you well, but be very careful to whom you dole out your cash.

The time it takes to draft and file a 440 motion can vary depending on the complexity of the case and the workload of the attorney. However, it is not typical for it to take multiple months without any progress being made. It may be beneficial for you to discuss your concerns with your attorney and inquire about the status of your case. If you are not satisfied with the attorney's response or feel that they are not handling your case in a timely manner, you may want to consider finding a different attorney to handle your case.

I think I could learn to love some of those "bots". :D
