My daughter was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Robbery and aggravated Assault. My daughter is 26 yrs old has never had a felony or any type of charges like these. Ever. She and the guy she's in " love " with, apparently has a lengthy criminal record. He was on the run from other charges. In short, he's had many run ins with the law. A public defender was assigned to her. And came to is with a plea from the Prosecution. At first I thought it was a good thing, but, after reading through I'm not so sure. She is shown on camera making sighs urging the attendant at a shell store to open the register. The guy, however is the one wielding a knife. Her plea is 5yrs intensive probation. No more the $25,000 restitution. She not a criminal. Her record proves that. She fell in to the wrong group. I don't know what to advice her to do. Sign or taking it to trail where it could be worse. Please advice me. We live in Tucson, Az

Your wrong. She IS a criminal. Her participation in the robbery proves that.

If she can get probation and restitution without prison, it's a good deal.

Hopefully, the boyfriend will go to prison and she'll have the opportunity to fall out of love and learn how to make better choices in her life.

Her best bet would be to follow the public defender's advice & take the plea of probation/restitution.

If your daughter claims she's innocent, she takes the matter to trial.

If your daughter admits to committing (or assisting her friend) in the armed robbery, she should take the deal.

Five years probation for committing an armed robbery (and testifying TRUTHFULLY) is the best deal any criminal could get.
