Well I have been asked to attend the police station on a voluntary basis and I know what it about I think I bought a ring for a friend that has a gambling problem to help her out. I think she has told the police that I have stolen it because her husband has find out it is missing
I really am worried nothing was signed to say I bought it only the two of us there when we exchanged the cash for the ring

This board is primarily for US law. US and UK law are not the same. You might want to try a UK website.

In the US there would be a possible 51 different sets of laws in play; it would depend on which state you were in and what, if anything, you were actually charged with.

You might want to try a UK website or talk to a barrister.

If neither of you blab, the police would be hard pressed to do anything.

Unless, the police decided to BEAT information our of you.

But, police rarely beat people these days, even in the UK.

So, if no one BLABS, no one is in jeopardy.

But, even if she blabbed, and you don't know anything about any ring (and you don't have the ring, or didn't pawn the ring), you don't have anything to stress about; do you?
