What are the appropriate actions needed to address a DWI arrest in the state of Missouri?

You appear in court as instructed on the citation (or booking documents).
You plead NOT GUILTY, hire a lawyer, or request the court to appoint a public defender, if your finances qualify.
Then you admit to nothing, say nothing about the charge, get yourself into a treatment program, a support group like AAA, and wait.
You avoid any additional legal trouble during the waiting period and eventually you meet with your lawyer.
