Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft admitted theft, now on the theft database?

I recently got fired for theft. I was very concerned about them pressing charges so I signed a piece of paper saying I'd return all product I had and pay a certain amount in restitution, and as long as the agreement was followed through they would not press charges. In hindsight having a written confession was probably not the best idea, but it was a very stressful situation and I was in a sort of a panic mode. Will this end up on the national theft database?

If your former employer is a subscriber to said database its almost a sure thing your name will be inputted

Is this going to completely ruin the chances of me getting a job now? I've been applying to a lot of big name retail stores.
