my son was charged with a minor consumption he is 15 we live in minnesota. first our local newspaper printed his name and the offense. His father read it ( he has full physical custody and I have 1/2 legal) anyways my son was at my house when his father read this. I hadn't told him yet because I was giving my son a chance to tell his father himself well anyways after his father seen it in the newspaper he called my son at my house while using every curse word under the son told him he was going to beat the Sh$t out of him. My son came to me in tears and shaking beyond control and is afraid to go back to his father's . What if anything can I do to protect him? My relationship with his father was very abusive physically and verbally and I am truly concerned for my son's well being. I should also add my ex has full custody because I gave it to him because at the time this is what my son wanted. Please help.

Unless he has already beaten him there isnt much you can do. a Father's angry words may have been out of line but not unlawful. If you want custody changed then you need to go back to court. In mean time if you do not follow current order you can be held in contempt

I'd try to understand why a minor's criminal charge was exposed in a newspaper.

Then, I'd want to know why the person who was supposed to be "watching" the child, allowed the child to get drunk.

What the father allegedly said, pales in comparison to what someone else did!
