Say one has found a stranger sexually assaulting one's 8 year old son, and the Father causes serious bodily harm to the sex offender. What would be the worst sentence one would recieve?

Most were charged.
Some have received NOT GUILTY.
Most get prison time.

It depends on the jury, some consider it mental incapacity in the heat of the moment and a public service. If he shot the guy for example and had to reload, it might go as attempted murder.

Of course a lawyer is needed. The whole situation will need to be discussed with the lawyer. It's hard to say without complete information what the sentence might be & we don't know what any individual judge/jury might decide.
