Can someone tell me what the penalty is for having a altered drivers license in NC and does anyone know the difference between an altered one and a fabricated one? thanks

It is likely a violation of GS 14-100.1 and that is a class 1 misdemeanor. That means that on its face the offense has a penalty of more than 6 months in jail.
