and if so what would you recommend I push for?

Basically I bought myself a used 1.6 astra about a week and a half ago. It is a 56 plate but registered in 2007. I was told by 3 sales staff at numerous points between my interest and the completion of the sale that it had the updated (115BHP) engine as it was registered in 2007. I took this on face value and purchased the car.

I have since found out that the 1.6 twinport engine is actually the 105BHP engine and I am fairly annoyed that I was mis-informed. I am aware than in 1.6 performance is not a huge thing but I feel it was something promised to me and as such it was mis-sold.

I am overall fairly happy with the car but I feel I should be compensated? Should I go all out and demand they provide me with a similar spec car that has the engine they told me i would recieve? or should i be expecting smaller compensation and if so what?

thanks guys

What's the price difference between the two?

If you have nothing in writing to support your recollections, you're stuck with the car as it sits. It isn't what is said, it's what is written. Always get it in writing, as part of the sales agreement or contract.

It was your responsibility to thoroughly inspect the vehicle prior to purchase. You took the seller's word for it, and that is your own mistake. The seller may have made a genuine error. As mentioned, unless you have something in writing, you really have no complaint.
