So... here's the story....
I worked for a cleaning company cleaning a school building three days a week. It was a solo gig, my boss was sub-contracted under a specific company, whom the school hired.
Long story short, in my last couple weeks (as I had a part time second job offering a promotion which required me to quit the cleaning job), with good intention of getting my school cleaned and up-to-par for whomever was to clean after my last day, I had brought a friend with me to help. He was like a brother to me and I trusted him. (Mind you, I did not have permission to have him in the building).
As it turns out... he may have potentially broken into the medicine cabinet and stolen some type(s) of medication(s) belonging to the one (or some) of the students (it is a school for the kids who have issues and can't go to normal public elementary schools).
They have him on camera cleaning the school with me, it is unclear to me about any kind of evidence or proof available thay he is responsible, but the chances are looking good that he is. They filed a police report and I am included in it. My ex-boss is saing he doesn't know what is going to happen, but they may be holding our pay pending investigation. I have never stolen anything from the school in the entire two years I have worked there, any evidence they potentially have is going to point the finger at him. However, I illegally allowed him into the building, so they are saying I may be just as liable.... an accessory?
My question: if it is proven that he is the one who did such horrible things, where do I stand and could I go to jail? They are saying it is a felony charge if he is guilty and that I could be an accessory? I was completely UNAWARE of him breaking into anything.
