Corporate Law Another non-profit wants to pass donations through our 501c3

Our church's founding pastor left our church to plant another in 2006. Recently (summer 2009), he started a new ministry. He wants to "partner" with our church -- asking us to receive donations on behalf of his new ministry so he doesn't have to set up his own 501c3. Is this legal?

That doesn't quite sound too kosher, IMHO. That's not partnering at all. Why aren't they setting up their own 501c3?
