I was charged with felony theft of electricity for 2 years and about 10,000 dollars worth in virginia. Question, I am 35 m wife and 5 kids. good job ( that I will lose if convicted of the felony) and a clean record. whats the chances of this being reduced to a misd. if any at all and put on probation? is this to much money and to long of a period for the judge to care if I lose my job?

Isnt this a legal advice(opinion) site? DUH:rolleyes: i guess yours is to ask my lawyer

Facts you should know

. Not everyone here is an Attorney
. Few Attorneys bless this site (they have real jobs)
. We cannot predict outcomes
. We don't know your judge or his/her history
. We don't know DA
. We don't know your exact charge as of yet
. Giving legal advice without a license is against the law. This includes Attorneys not license to practice law in your state!

the list goes on. What we can do is google statutes that do or might apply or tell you stories of similar circumstances and how they came out. We cannot tell you what the DA might or might not charge you with or plead down to. We cant tell you what a judge will rule. Your Attorney is best for that. We can google the statute and tell you what "coud" happen but then you can do that yourself. We can help explain the legal jargon to you. We can tell you stories of similar nature you can compare to. Now does that help?
