NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - A man in Tennessee is accused of throwing chairs from a Nashville hotel balcony while also ranting about political figures, specifically making threats towards former President Donald Trump, according to police.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said an officer was driving by the JW Marriot on 8th Avenue South just before 6 p.m. Wednesday when he was flagged down by an employee.

The employee told the officer that 58-year-old Jack Campitelli had vandalized the property, according to an arrest report.

The employee also said they had asked Campitelli to leave the property, but he refused while throwing at least two chairs from a balcony onto the sidewalk.

The arresting officer said he viewed security video showing Campitelli throwing a chair off a balcony onto the sidewalk below, according to the arrest report.

The officer stated the video showed another chair that hotel staff said Campitelli had thrown.

The report also states a second officer arrived to help, and both officers approached Campitelli. They said "he ranted about Trump and other political figures."

While being booked, one of the officers said Campitelli yelled that "Trump needs to die because he was a liar."

The officer said the Secret Service was notified about the threat.

Campitelli was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct, vandalism, and trespassing.
