I recently received a notice from Superior Court of CA telling me a warrant has been issued for my arrest. I received a speeding ticket, paid the fine, and chose Trial by Written Declaration. I personally dropped off my statement of truth at the court office, but now I received this warrant. Apparently now, the matter has been turned over to the Sheriff's dept. Anyone have any idea what I should do? Should I just pay the additional fine of $257.00 or contest the warrant at the sheriff's dept.?

Then you should have a receipt where you paid the fine and a copy of the TBD stamped by the clerk of court. Take these over to the clerk and find out what is going on. It appears they have not correctly entered your case.
