Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Arrested for Larceny

Im 16 years old and worked at a shopping center, lets call it walmart. It was a gift card scam that my friend talked me into doing that i so regret right now. We basically put like a dollar in the register but like 50 on the card. Stupid yea i know. As i was being questioned they had me for like $736 but i wrote 1000 because i wasnt even sure of how much, I was to afraid because they said if i was lying it would make it worse so i was nervous. Was arrested and brought to the precint, 50 dollars bail a court date and im out. I was wondering if not read my rights at any time matters. I also have all the reciepts of the stuff i bought and it only equaled to about $400. I was reading about grand larceny and so on that it was like $1000+ in ny, will i be charged that or petit larceny, as it says on my court ticket? Also i cant even get a lawyer because my family is having money issues so how should i go about talking to the court appointed lawyer or w/e is gonna happen.

Miranda does not apply when talking to Loss Prevention. Its when your questioned by Police and even then not in all circumstances, Hire a criminal defense Attorney because your looking at felony charges

I got up when the judge called my name, walked over and she asked if i wanted to hear what im being charged with. I said no and my dad asked for legal aid so we sat back down and waited about 30 minutes longer and the lawyer came over to me while we were seated in the audience. Basically my petit larceny is going to be reduced to a violation and its not going to be on my record once i finish my 70 hours community service. I am also being charged like 290 dollars for a fine. My record was clean and still is. Hope this helps anybody else
