So I was caught shoplifting a pair of earrings. Long story short, the store security called the police, who told me they were going to take me back to the station. They handcuffed me and put me in the back of the car. One at the station, they filled out a ticket form, as well as this thing I had to sign saying they got to keep my stuff until they let me go. They fingerprinted me, and took my pictures. They then had me sign the ticket, which said I had to appear in court, and let me go. I was there for a total of about 20 minutes, and didn't have to post bail. So my question is, was I actually arrested? Becuse I don't recall them ever telling me "you are under arrest". I'm pretty confused about what exactly happened, so if anyone could please shine some light on the subject, I'd greatly appreciate it.
