So I'm at a wedding. One of my cousins lectures me. Long story short, rage and anger built up inside me. He took two swings at me and missed. They were open handed swings, sort of like slapping the air. I swung one right hook and it connected with head. People claim he never took a swing at me. Then his son took two punches at me. The guy I punched recieved a cut on his eye lid. Me, no bruises, just pretty sore. If they press charges on me, what's the outcome.

We can't predict what a court result might be. You know the possible outcomes, not guilty or guilty.
In the meantime, you have the RIGHT to remain SILENT. Reread your story, you're talking TOO much. The bit about RAGE BUILDING UP INSIDE YOU, not smart, just not smart.

Besides the criminal charge, you could be sued for civil damages, medical bill, loss of wages, pain and suffering, etc...

Less is more, stop talking and control yourself. Sometimes it's best not to drink and just walk away.

If the police weren't already contacted then don't worry about it.
It takes two to fight. It is not uncommon for this to be viewed as mutual combat and have the case go nowhere.
Obviously your best option would have been to step away since you weren't struck. If you should be charged for battery you wouldn't be looking at any jail time or anything, just probation, fines etc...
