I was caught stealing a couple pair of earrings from a mall store.
I got a ticket for $300.00 (municipal court) and paid it off.
I live in Texas.

I want to know if this will stay on my record, and what do I put when I fill out forms that ask about law violations.

That depends ... what record are you talking about?

There are many, many records ... the store may have a record, the police department may have a record, the prosecutor's office may have a record, the court may have a record, the probation department may have a record, and so on ...

If you were convicted of a crime, and the form asks if you have been convicted, then I imagine you need to answer, "Yes."

Do you have reason to believe your record was cleared or expunged?

You can check your criminal history out here at the TX DPS site:

I am also in a like position because i got caught trying to steal at target in april it was a mistake i learned from but i was wondering if it is still haunting me because i am currently looking for a job but no one is calling after 10+ aplactions I took care of the case through teen court and community service. but about mid summer some law office started calling me and saying they want money from me on behalf of target but i stopped answering thier call after the 2nd call but now they call me about 3to 6 times a week and i know they cant get money from me for if they could they would have already but i want them to leave me alone. Any help is much appreached:(

Crypto,

It is considered bad form to "hijack" someone else's thread to ask a question. Please start your own thread.

Plus, your own thread stands a better chance of attracting responses.
