I have been living in a house I am renting through a property management company in the state of florida. I have lived here for 1 year without any trouble, when I renewed my lease I received a notice from the hoa association telling me I needed to fill out a tenants application . They are asking for my birth date drivers license, ssn. my employer , my income , credit references, and vehicle details. This is all info I provided with my rental agency, who have already done the screening process. The hoa has indicated they have the authority to override my lease if I don't provide all the info they request. Is this legal???? Because my spouse has had her identity stolen before we are reluctant to turn over this info.
