I hired my attorney in May of 2008. Since then he doesn't return my calls has never sent me a statement even though I have requested them several times and now my final hearing is tomorrow and from his receptionist it's still on. The problem is we only got through 1/2 the depositions, haven't finished my husbands which he kept re-scheduling. My husband hasn't submitted all the discovery - the receptionist now says stuff has been trickling in. I don't know where were are financially - my attorney said we would schedule a meeting 10 days prior to the hearing to discuss it. My husband cleaned out all the accounts and hid most of the money so I would have to again put new attorney fees on another credit card. She said well they may just ask for a continuance tomorrow and I said he asked for one last time and I wasn't there why do I have to go tomorrow? She said just a formality. I said he is disrespectful not to return my calls, not to let me know what's going on and to do this to me and that maybe I needed to hire a new attorney. I told her unless he called me with good reason to attend tomorrow I wasn't. That was over 1.5 hrs ago and still no call back. Am I wrong in my stand? We live in a small town so one thing my husband did before this all started was to see most of the good attorneys so I couldn't. If I do get another attorney how do I stop what may happen tomorrow and how do I get my money back?
