My friend and I live in South Carolina. Back in August,(when I was 18 and she was 17) my friend and I went into Kohl's to apply for jobs. After we filled out our applications, we decided to try on clothes. After clothes, we moved to purses and such. I mentioned I had to use to bathroom and excused myself. Upon coming back, we decided to leave. About two seconds after leaving the store, a man (the LP) walked out after us, held out a badge, and demanded we follow him back into his office. Our purses were promptly searched. Mine contained only what I entered the store with, but I was floored to see that my friend's purse contained several items of clothing. I had absolutely no idea that she had stolen. But I found out that she had stuffed the tags into a purse while I had gone to the bathroom. I even asked to see the video, but they refused. They automatically assumed, that since we walked in the store together, that I was her accomplice but had chickened out. This is a completely false accusation. After much questioning, we were both slammed with a lifetime ban, a $200 fine each, all my information was taken down and my picture was taken. Hers was not, however. I found this odd. What I would like to know is if there is any way I can get my ban lifted? I don't care about her being banned. She made the mistake and deserves her punishment. I know this seems like it does not say much for my character or hers. But she admitted that she did this as a way to get the attention of her estranged father. Anyway, I, on the other hand, did absolutely nothing wrong, nor had any prior knowledge to her little stunt. I (did) enjoy shopping there very much. I don't want to have this hanging over my head.
