I recently got a speeding ticket for 81 in a 60 in Atlanta. From what I've researched online, it seems that there are a few things I can do.
First, this is my first speeding ticket (but I've had a failure to yield and a following too closely) and I need to know if there is anything I can do to at the very least get it knocked down to 14 over. If so, HOW? How do I request of the court that they change the number?
I've also read a bunch about attacking the radar gun, my ticket says "calibration/check- 0600" my ticket was at 9:30 am. Is that too long of a period between calibration and citation?
Thirdly, last time I went to court, the officer who ticketed me wasn't there. I ended up paying because I didn't know the case got dismissed without the officer present. So, in case my officer isn't present, how do I inform the court, or ask to have it dismissed? Do I have to plead not guilty or nolo? Thanks tons.
