Assault & Battery Beaten Badly. Perp charged with misdemeanor

I was recently attacked at a night club by a stranger. I was hit in the face with a bottle which caused 5 inches of deep lacerations. The police caught the guy but he was only charged with a misdemeanor. I wrote a letter to the DA expressing my dissatisfaction but still no felony charges. I am scared for life, is there anything I can do to get justice?

Why are you scared for your life? Is this someone you know, or was this just a chance encounter at the night club?

He should have been charged with a felony for assault with a deadly weapon, or at least felony battery due to the nature of the injury. Keep in touch with the DA on this issue and make sure they know the extent of your injury. If they refuse to prosecute it as a felony get a good explanation for why.
Whether they charge as a felony or misdemeanor, you still can file a civil suit seeking damages for the injury. The DA is only handling the criminal aspect of it. Talk to an injury attorney and see what your options are.
