Being Sued

My mom is being sued by a car company. But the problem is that the car belongs to my dad. And my parents are divorced. But at the time, he was the principal borower. She cosigned. He got it repossessed and now the want their money. But he wont return their calls. So they are coming after her.Right after he got the car, he left and abandonded our family and went to another state. My mom is disabled and on disability. She cant afford to pay the charges they want her to pay. So i was wondering what we should do? Thanks for the help
