Consumer Law, Warranties Being summoned to court for a debt on a corporation that no longer exists

I am being asked to appear in court for a debt that is owed through my coportation that was closed over a year ago. Can they come after any personal assest to fulfill this debt?

Once you close the corporation and you take any assets the corporation had, you can become liable for the debts. That is why I would always keep a corporation open for at least as many years as the SOL for contingent liabilities.

Did you dissolve the corporation or allow it to be administratively dissolved? Or is it still active at the SOS?

You should reconstitute the corporation and make your yearly filings for 7 years.
