Biden Took 48 Years Worth of Vacation During His 40 Month Presidency

President Joe Biden has been hard at work, managing to squeeze in 532 vacation days in less than four years in office, according to RNC Research.

That's roughly the equivalent of 48 years of vacations for the average American and 40% of his time in office, reported the Washington Examiner. By comparison, the average American takes 11 vacation days a year.

Presidential aides claim the commander in chief is working remotely and remains on call when he is on vacation, though the press has captured him napping on Rehoboth Beach on more than one occasion.

The problem with that report is the numbers are drawn by counting the number of days the president has been away from the White House. But presidents often continue to do work while away from DC. Much of Biden's time away from the White House is spent at his two homes in Delaware, which simply continues a tradition Biden had during his time in the Senate where he'd often return to Delaware on weekends, go back for campaigning for the next election, etc. In other words, much like many other members of Congress in the mid Atlantic states.

Trump too spent a lot more of his time on vacation than the vast majority of Americans, 378 days over 4 years, or 94.5 days each year. So have most recent presidents, with the notable exception of Jimmy Carter who had far fewer vacation days, counted at just 79 days over four years. That's about 20 days a year, not a whole lot more than the typical American. But I wouldn't say that all that time spent in the White House actually amounted to much real action. Going back a bit further, Herbert Hoover in his four years in office took just 49 days over four years, for an average of 12 days a year. He has the unfortunate distinction of being president when the great stock market crash that kicked off the Great Depression occurred.

George W. Bush so far holds the record for vacation days for recent two term presidents at 1020 days over four years or an average of 128 days per year. His father, George H.W. Bush was on pace to match that record at 543 over four years, an average of 136 day per year.

What do all these numbers indicate? In short, most recent presidents have had a lot of "vacation time" but there isn't any good correlation between how much time a president spent on "vacation" and how well the country fared.

If every elected and appointed federal official were required to remain in DC a mere ONE DAY each week, I suspect the citizenry would suffer less mischief, rather than the shenanigans put forth by the elected and appointed mischief makers currently!!!
