My brother went to court today for a Petty Theft 484. He was qualified for the Diversion Program. Was given $200 court fees, 20 hours community service, a class to take and Booking and Release from the police department. Then he is to return in court after a year for case dismissal.
Our question is:
1. What does this booking and release form given that he has to fulfill within 5 days? Is this for finger printing and photo only? or he would be put to jail?
2. Will the misdemeanor charge be in his record after finishing the diversion program? or there will be NO misdemeanor charge at all?
