My jurisdiction is: Florida
I am 50 yr old male. I recently underwent a surgery for diverticulitis. Surgery was done using robotics. Surgery was completed and I was in the recovery room when the surgeon came in and told my wife that they had left a piece of tissue inside me and would have to take me back in to operate again to remove. Second surgery they were able to locate piece after exploring, after the surgery I had complications due to the excessive anethesia from 2 surgeries one after the other. I am now 14 days post surgery. I had a catheter in for 10 days and still must self cath 4 times a day, as my bladder shut down after surgery and was streched to 5 times normal size before discovered. I know all these complications are a result of having to do 2 surgeries. I and my wife have been under such stress for what was suppose to be a very routine procedure. Now I am going to be faced with additional costs, lost wages and so on. I am hoping for some general advice if anyone can help. Thank You
